Meet The Instructors

Paul “BIN” Biliti Hi my name is Paul Biliti, but my friends call me “BIN”.  I’m a Lead instructor for SATRA specializing in grain bin engulfment, rope access, confined space, high angle rope rescue, trench rescue and building collapse.  I also administer SATRA’s social media outlets. As a professional firefighter/paramedic I have twice had the honor of being named Madison Heights Fire Department (MI) Firefighter of the Year.  I am the department’s technical rescue coordinator, sit on the board of a regional technical rescue team, and serve as Team Leader/Tactical Medic for our regional S.W.A.T. team.
More About BIN
My experience also includes emergency situation response, developing policies and procedures, and strategic planning.  Students in my classes find this diverse background beneficial because it helps me adjust our training to meet our students’ specific situations and challenges. My wife Julie and I have two sons, Nicholas and Matthew.  We also have a dog name Charlie.  Right now the boys are really into ropes and knots, so I’ve outfitted a tree in our back yard so that they can practice raising and lowering each other. In my free time I am an avid golfer and a hockey player. Sorry to disappoint you, but my nickname “BIN” has nothing to do with grain bins.  The name goes back to my youth hockey days. I had a coach that just couldn’t seem to pronounce Biliti.  It kept coming out as Bineti, then just shortened to BIN.  It wasn’t long before everyone calling me BIN, and the name stuck.
