Ladder Cages Make Falls More Dangerous

Ladder cages give users a false sense of security because they can’t stop a free fall. In fact, a fall in a ladder cage will make the fall more dangerous.

When a fall occurs a worker violently bounces about the cage as he falls. Eventually his leg or arm is caught in one of the horizontal bars, abruptly stopping him. Victims often suffer broken bones, severe lacerations and other injuries.

The confinement of a ladder cage makes it very difficult and risky for a rescue team to reach and extract a fallen worker. The cage obstructs rescuer’s access to the injured worker and until the injured worker can be restrained by rescuers they are at risk of falling again.

Cable Climb Systems Provide Superior Safety

When a worker slips while using a cable climb system the restraint system immediately grabs the cable. This limits the distance a worker falls and prevents injuries.

Often workers are able to recover without assistance and proceed safety without the need for rescue.

When rescue is needed, cable system make rescuing easier and faster. There are no obstructions that restrict access to the injured person.
